2015 Summer Reading Book

The 2015 Carolina Summer Reading selection committee comprised of faculty, staff, and students selected ‘Just Mercy’ by Bryan Stevenson. “Just Mercy” is available for purchase at the Bull’s Head Bookshop of UNC Student Stores.

 

News & Announcements:

  • The Ackland Art Museum has curated pieces that reflect some of the themes in Just Mercy. Join us this Tuesday, September 1st from 3:30-5:30pm for a reception as we hear about the pieces they chose! The exhibit will be on display in their Study Gallery through Sunday, September 27th for further viewing opportunity.
  • Hear the experiences of those marginalized and affected by incarceration through the songs of acclaimed singer-songwriter and social justice activist John Flynn combined with stories, performances, and interactive art created by men sentenced to die in prison. Songs in the Key of Justice: Reshaping our criminal justice system through the power of creative expression will be on Monday, September 14th at 6:30pm in the FPG Student Union Auditorium.
